Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission drive oil seal
* Clean rag
* Flat blade screwdriver
* 5 mm hex key
* 13 mm socket wrench or socket wrench
* Torque wrench
* Tin snips (or bolt cutters)
* Container for draining transmission fluid
* New transmission fluid
* Sealant for automatic transmission flanges

Instructions:

Draining transmission fluid

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Place a drain container under the gearbox.
3. Unscrew the drain plug with a 13 mm wrench.
4. Drain the transmission fluid into a container.

Removing the automatic transmission drive

1. Loosen the wheel bolts, but do not remove the wheel.
2. Jack up the front of the car and secure it on stands.
3. Remove the wheel.
4. Unscrew the bolt securing the tie rod joint to the steering knuckle with a 5 mm hex key.
5. Disconnect the steering rod from the steering knuckle.
6. Loosen the hub nut with a socket or 13 mm spanner.
7. Remove the brake caliper.
8. Unscrew the shock absorber mounting bolts and disconnect it from the steering knuckle.
9. Tie the brake caliper to the top of the shock absorber.
10. Place a jack under the clamping flange nut and slightly lift the automatic transmission drive.
11. Unscrew the clamping flange nut with a 30 mm wrench.
12. Move the automatic transmission drive away from the gearbox.
13. Cut the clamp of the protective cover of the drive with metal scissors (or a bolt cutter).
14. Remove the protective cover from the drive.

Replacing the oil seal

1. Clean the oil seal seat and the outer surface of the new oil seal with a clean rag.
2. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the outer surface of the new oil seal.
3. Install the new oil seal into place using a flat blade screwdriver.
4. Install the protective cover on the drive.
5. Secure the protective cover with a new clamp.

Installation of automatic transmission drive

1. Insert the automatic transmission drive into the gearbox and tighten the clamping flange nut. Tighten the nut with a torque wrench to a torque of 170 Nm.
2. Lower the automatic transmission drive and connect it to the steering rod joint. Tighten the tie rod mounting bolt to a torque of 30 Nm.
3. Connect the shock absorber to the steering knuckle and tighten the mounting bolts.
4. Reinstall the brake caliper and tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Put on the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts.

Filling transmission fluid

1. Fill new transmission fluid through the filler hole in the transmission.
2. Fill with fluid until it comes out of the inspection hole.
3. Screw in the filler and inspection plugs.

Checking the transmission fluid level

1. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
2. Park the car.
3. Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it clean and insert it back.
4. Pull the dipstick out a second time and check the fluid level. The level should be between the «MIN» and «MAX» marks on the dipstick.
5. If necessary, add liquid or drain excess.

Precautions:

* Be careful not to damage the drive boot.
*Tighten nuts and bolts to proper torque.
*Use only recommended transmission fluid.
* Do not overheat the transmission during operation.
