Partial automatic transmission oil change for Hyundai Solaris 2014
Required materials:
* New automatic transmission oil (about 4-5 liters)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission filter
* Measuring container
* Keys or sockets for 10, 12, 14, 17 mm
* Rags or gloves
Tools:
* Funnel
* Hose
Work progress:
1. Drain old oil
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Remove the crankcase protection, if equipped.
* Place a container under the automatic transmission pan to collect old oil.
* Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan and wait until the oil is completely drained.
* Remove the automatic transmission pan and drain the remaining oil.
* Clean the tray and magnets from metal shavings.
2. Filter replacement
* Remove the old automatic transmission filter.
* Reinstall the new filter.
3. Installation of the pallet
* Install a new pan gasket.
* Screw the tray into place.
* Tighten the drain plug.
4. Filling with new oil
* Fill in new oil through the automatic transmission filler neck.
* Fill in approximately 3 liters of oil.
5. Checking the oil level
* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Switch the automatic transmission selector to all positions, holding each position for a few seconds.
* Move the selector to the “Parking” position.
* Turn off the engine and wait about 5 minutes for the oil to drain.
* Remove the automatic transmission dipstick, wipe it with a rag and reinsert it.
* Remove the dipstick and check the oil level: it should be between the upper and lower marks.
6. Adding oil
* If the oil level is below the lower mark, add the required amount through the filler neck.
* Check the oil level again and repeat the topping procedure if necessary.
7. Restoration of performance
* Connect the drain plug.
* Install the crankcase protection if it has been removed.
* Reset the automatic transmission oil life counter using the diagnostic scanner (if equipped).
Cautions:
* Use only automatic transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Avoid overfilling oil as this may damage the gearbox.
* Regularly check the automatic transmission oil level and top it up if necessary.
