Repair of Pajero Junior automatic transmission control unit

Required tools and materials:

* Set of screwdrivers (Phillips and slotted)
* 10 mm wrench
* Soldering iron and solder
* Multimeter
* Diagnostic scanner (preferred)

Repair instructions:

Disassembling the control unit:

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Find the automatic transmission control unit, which is usually located under the hood, next to the battery.
3. Unscrew the screws that secure the control unit cover.
4. Carefully remove the cover, being careful not to damage the components inside.

Diagnostics and repair:

1. Visually inspect the board for damage such as swollen capacitors, burnt resistors, or cracks in the printed traces.
2. Use a multimeter to check all components for signs of malfunction:
* Resistors: check the resistance, it should match the markings.
* Capacitors: Check capacitance and short circuit.
3. If you find faulty components, replace them with similar ones.
4. Check the soldering for loose or cold joints. If necessary, resolder problem areas.
5. Clean the board with alcohol or electronics cleaner to remove any dirt or flux.

Control unit assembly:

1. Replace the cover and tighten the screws.
2. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
3. Connect the diagnostic scanner and check for errors. Clear any errors found.
4. Start the engine and check that the automatic transmission is operating correctly.
