Malfunctions of the automatic transmission torque converter overrunning clutch:

1. Overrunning clutch slipping:

* Difficulty shifting gears
* Increased fuel consumption
* Reduced vehicle performance and dynamics

2. Overrunning clutch lock:

* Difficulty changing gears, especially when moving to higher gears
* Noise and vibration when driving
* Torque converter overheating

3. Wear of friction linings:

* Quiet slipping when changing gears
* The appearance of a burning smell
* Gradual deterioration of dynamic characteristics

4. Actuator spring failure:

* Insufficient clutch locking torque
* Slipping during acceleration and at high speeds
* Increased gear shift time

5. Mechanical damage:

* Damage to the spline joint
* Worn or broken teeth
* Shaft jamming

Symptoms of a faulty overrunning clutch:

* Slipping when changing gears
* Noise, vibration or shock when driving
* Difficult or impossible gear shifting
* Torque converter overheating
* Increased fuel consumption
* Reduced dynamic performance
