Parking mode (P)
* Move the gear lever to position P only when the vehicle is stationary and the handbrake is engaged.
* This mode locks the transmission and wheels, preventing the vehicle from moving.
Reverse mode (R)
* Use R mode to reverse.
* Shift the lever to position R only after the vehicle has come to a complete stop.
Neutral (N)
* Move the lever to the N position when the vehicle is not moving or is stopped in a traffic jam.
* In neutral, the transmission is not engaged, allowing the vehicle to roll freely.
Drive (D)
*Mode D is used for normal driving.
* The transmission will automatically shift to the desired gear based on engine speed and load.
Sport mode (S)
*S mode allows for more aggressive shifting, holding gears until higher engine speeds.
* It improves vehicle performance and acceleration.
Eco mode
*Eco mode optimizes gear shifting to save fuel.
* The transmission will shift to higher gears at lower engine speeds.
Additional buttons
*Speed Limiter: Press this button to limit the vehicle’s maximum speed.
* Cruise Control: Use this button to maintain a set vehicle speed without using the accelerator pedal.
How to use the Outlander automatic transmission
1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the gear shift lever to the desired mode.
3. Take your foot off the brake pedal and the car will start moving.
4. To shift to a higher or lower gear, use the gear shift lever in manual mode (+/-).
5. To enter parking mode, stop completely, press the brake pedal and move the gear lever to position P.
Tips for use
* To avoid damage to the transmission, only shift the lever when the vehicle is stationary and the brake pedal is depressed.
*Do not switch to R mode at speed.
*Use S mode only when necessary as it may increase fuel consumption.
* Check the automatic transmission fluid level regularly.
