Tools and materials:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Screwdriver set
* Hex keys
* Pliers
* Steering rod puller
* Gear oil (for refilling)
* Transmission pan gasket
* New oil scraper ring for torque converter
Removal procedure:
1. Preparation:
* Turn off the ignition and remove the key.
* Put the car on the parking brake.
* Open the hood and disconnect the battery.
2. Removing the air filter:
* Disconnect the air intake hose and the air filter housing plug.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the air filter housing and remove it.
3. Removing the top fastening:
* Unscrew the upper bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
4. Removing the lower fasteners:
* Install jacks under the engine and transmission.
* Unscrew the lower bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Lower the vehicle and remove the lower mounts.
5. Disconnecting rods and cables:
* Disconnect the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles using a puller.
* Disconnect the speedometer cable from the gearbox.
* Disconnect the clips and unhook the shift cables from the transmission.
6. Disconnecting hydraulic lines:
* Loosen the clamps on the inlet and outlet hydraulic lines, and disconnect them from the gearbox.
* Be careful not to spill transmission fluid.
7. Disconnecting electrical connectors:
* Disconnect all electrical connectors from the transmission, including the speed sensor, shift position sensor, etc.
8. Unscrewing the pallet bolts:
* Place a tray to collect transmission fluid.
* Unscrew the pallet mounting bolts.
9. Removing the pan and draining the liquid:
* Carefully remove the pan and allow the transmission fluid to drain.
* Install a new pan gasket.
10. Removing the torque converter:
* Loosen the bolts securing the torque converter to the engine flywheel.
* Insert a screwdriver into the hole on the torque converter and carefully pry it up to separate it from the flywheel.
* Install a new oil scraper ring on the torque converter shaft.
11. Gearbox highlight:
* Gently slide the transmission rearward to disengage it from the engine.
* Remove the transmission from under the vehicle and place it on a stand.
Installation:
The gearbox is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Adviсe:
* Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the required torque.
* Make sure all electrical connectors and hydraulic lines are connected correctly.
* Refill the transmission with transmission fluid to the recommended level.
* Reset transmission adaptations after installation using a diagnostic scanner.
