The Opel Meriva was produced with two types of automatic transmissions:

* Automatic transmission (AT) with torque converter, which is a classic and reliable type of automatic transmission.
* Robotic gearbox (manual transmission) Easytronic, which is a robotic manual gearbox controlled by an electronic control unit.

The Easytronic robotic gearbox combines the advantages of a manual transmission (efficiency and simplicity of design) with the ease of operation of an automatic transmission. However, it has some disadvantages compared to the classic automatic transmission, such as:

*Longer gear shift times.
* Jerks when switching in some driving modes.
* Less clutch life.

The recommended choice of automatic transmission type for the Opel Meriva depends on individual preferences and driving style:

* For a comfortable and smooth ride, a classic automatic transmission is better.
* For sportier and more economical driving, you can choose the Easytronic robotic manual transmission.
