Required materials:
* Automatic transmission oil (original GM Dexron VI recommended)
* Automatic transmission filter (original GM recommended)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* O-rings
* Key for 10
* Key to 17
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Cleaning brush
* Funnel
Instructions:
1. Place the car on a level surface. Stop the engine and let it cool.
2. Raise the vehicle on a lift. For access to the automatic transmission pan.
3. Remove the engine protection (if equipped). This will give you more space to work with.
4. Clean the automatic transmission pan. Use a brush to clean the pan of dirt and deposits.
5. Unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission pan. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.
6. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts holding the pan and carefully remove it.
7. Replace the automatic transmission filter. Remove the old filter and install the new one. Make sure the O-rings are installed correctly.
8. Wash the automatic transmission pan. Use brake or carburetor cleaner to thoroughly clean the pan.
9. Install a new automatic transmission pan gasket. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new gasket and install it on the pan.
10. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan. Screw in the bolts and tighten them to the specified torque.
11. Fill with new automatic transmission oil. Use a funnel to pour new oil into the pan. Fill the pan to the control mark on the dipstick.
12. Check the oil level. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. Place the car in park, pull out the dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “min” and “max” marks on the dipstick.
13. Lower the vehicle. Remove the vehicle from the lift and reinstall the engine protection (if equipped).
Note:
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil and filter every 60,000 – 80,000 km.
*Use only oil and filter approved for your vehicle model and transmission.
