Description: Automatic transmission right drive oil seal
Applicability: Chevrolet Lacetti with automatic transmission (automatic transmission)
Installation location:
* Between the right drive and the gearbox housing.
Function:
* Prevent transmission fluid from leaking from the gearbox.
Symptoms of malfunction:
* Leakage of transmission fluid from the right-hand drive area.
* Noise or vibration while driving.
Possible causes of the malfunction:
* Worn or damaged oil seal.
*Damage or deformation of the gearbox housing or right-hand drive.
Tools and materials needed for replacement:
* Set of wrenches or ratchets
* Mounting tool or screwdriver
* New right drive oil seal
Replacement procedure:
1. Raise the vehicle and place it on stands.
2. Remove the right wheel.
3. Disconnect the right drive from the wheel hub.
4. Using a pry bar or a screwdriver, carefully pry and remove the old oil seal from the gearbox housing.
5. Clean the oil seal seat from old sealant or dirt.
6. Install the new oil seal into the seat. Make sure it is installed in the correct position (spring out).
7. Apply a small amount of sealant to the oil seal seat.
8. Reinstall the right drive into place.
9. Connect the drive to the wheel hub.
10. Install the wheel and lower the vehicle.
Adviсe:
* Before installation, lubricate the new oil seal with transmission fluid.
*Use a good quality sealant designed for automotive transmissions.
* If necessary, also replace the drive ring.
