Replacing an automatic transmission oil cooler on a Ford Kuga 2
Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission oil cooler
* Automatic transmission oil cooler gasket
* Sealant for automatic transmissions
* Transmission fluid for automatic transmission
* Socket and socket wrenches
* Screwdriver
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Place the car on a flat surface and disconnect the battery.
2. Drain the automatic transmission fluid into a prepared container. To do this, unscrew the drain plug of the automatic transmission crankcase.
3. Remove the engine protection (if equipped).
4. Disconnect the automatic transmission cooling hoses from the radiator. To do this, loosen the clamps and pull the hoses.
5. Unscrew the bolts securing the oil cooler to the gearbox.
6. Remove the oil cooler from its place.
7. Replace the oil cooler gasket. To do this, apply sealant to the new gasket and install it in place.
8. Install the new oil cooler in place. Tighten the mounting bolts to the required torque.
9. Connect the automatic transmission cooling hoses to the radiator. Tighten the clamps.
10. Install the engine protection (if removed).
11. Fill the automatic transmission with new transmission fluid. To do this, use a funnel.
12. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
13. Check the transmission fluid level and add if necessary.
Adviсe:
* When replacing the automatic transmission oil cooler, it is recommended to also change the automatic transmission filter.
* After replacing the automatic transmission oil cooler, you must reset the automatic transmission fluid replacement counter in the ECU.
* When performing work, take precautions and use only high-quality consumables.
