Materials:
* Automatic transmission oil Hyundai Genuine SP-IV (approximately 6 liters)
* New automatic transmission filter (original number: 463214B000)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (original number: 215134B000)
*Clean rag or paper towels
Tools:
* Wrench set
* Washer with magnet
* Funnel for filling oil
* Lift or jack
* Supports
* Gloves
Procedure:
1. Prepare the vehicle: Place the vehicle on a lift or jack it up. Make sure the car is on secure supports.
2. Remove the engine guard: If installed, remove the engine guard to gain access to the transmission pan.
3. Drain the old oil: Place a container under the automatic transmission drain plug. Unscrew the drain plug using a wrench. The old oil will start to pour out. Let it drain completely.
4. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the automatic transmission pan and carefully remove it. Be careful not to damage the gasket.
5. Replace the automatic transmission filter: Remove the old automatic transmission filter and replace it with a new one. Make sure the filter gasket is installed correctly.
6. Clean the pan and magnet: Clean the automatic transmission pan and the washer with the magnet from metal filings and dirt.
7. Install a new pan: Install a new gasket on the automatic transmission pan and secure it with bolts. Tighten the bolts to the recommended torque.
8. Fill with new oil: Using a funnel, pour new automatic transmission oil into the pan. Fill in about 4 liters of oil and let it drain into the automatic transmission crankcase.
9. Start the engine and check the oil level: Start the engine and let it idle. Then move the automatic transmission selector through all gears and return to the “Parking” position.
10. Check the oil level: Using the automatic transmission dipstick, check the oil level. If necessary, add oil until it reaches the “hot” level.
11. Install the motor guard: If the motor guard has been removed, install it back.
Adviсe:
* The automatic transmission oil and filter should be changed every 30,000-50,000 km or in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Use only original oil for Hyundai Genuine SP-IV automatic transmission.
* Be careful when removing the old automatic transmission filter as a small amount of oil may spill out.
*If you notice any unusual noises or leaks from the automatic transmission, consult a qualified mechanic.
