Tools and materials:
* New gear oil (7.2 liters)
* Transmission filter
* Transmission housing gasket
* Set of keys and screwdrivers
* Oil drain container
* Funnel
Replacement procedure:
1. Preparing the car
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Turn off the engine.
2. Drain old oil
* Unscrew the transmission housing drain plug. Be careful not to burn yourself with hot oil.
* Allow the oil to drain completely into the container.
3. Filter replacement
* Remove the bolts that secure the transmission filter.
*Remove the old filter and install a new one.
* Make sure the O-ring on the filter is in place.
4. Installing a new gasket
* Remove the old transmission housing gasket.
* Clean the crankcase surfaces and gaskets.
* Install a new gasket.
5. Filling with new oil
* Pour new gear oil into the gearbox through the filler hole.
*Use a funnel to prevent spills.
* Fill in approximately 6 liters of oil.
6. Checking the oil level
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Place the gear shift lever in the park position.
* Turn off the engine.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick. The level should be between the «min» and «max» marks on the dipstick.
*If the oil level is insufficient, add more.
7. Closing
* Tighten the filler plug and drain plug.
* Lower the car.
8. Reset service counter
* Reset the service counter in the vehicle information system so that the oil change reminder will no longer appear.
Recommendations:
* It is recommended to change the oil in the Skoda Rapid automatic transmission every 60,000 km or 6 years, whichever comes first.
* Check the gearbox oil level every 10,000 km or annually.
* Use only gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
