Required materials:

* New gear oil (type and volume specified in the owner’s manual)
* New automatic transmission oil filter (if changed)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (if changed)
* Keys or screwdrivers for removing the automatic transmission pan
* Container for draining old oil
* Funnel for filling new oil
* Scanner for resetting the automatic transmission oil change counter (optional)

Steps:

1. Preparing the car:

* Start the engine and allow it to warm up to operating temperature.
* Turn off the engine and park the car.
* Secure the wheels with wheel chocks.

2. Draining old oil:

* Determine the location of the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a container under the automatic transmission pan to collect old oil.
* Loosen and remove the automatic transmission pan bolts.
* Remove the automatic transmission pan with care not to spill oil.
* Remove old oil from the pan.

3. Replacing the oil filter (optional):

* If you are changing the automatic transmission oil filter, disconnect it from the automatic transmission housing.
* Install a new oil filter.

4. Cleaning the tray and magnets:

* Clean the inside of the automatic transmission pan from dirt and metal particles.
* Clean the magnets in the tray from metal particles.

5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Install a new pan gasket if it has been replaced.
* Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the pan bolts.

6. Filling with new oil:

* Using a funnel, pour new transmission oil into the automatic transmission.
* Fill with the required amount of oil specified in the instruction manual.

7. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and turn the automatic transmission selector to all positions, holding each position for a few seconds.
* Return the selector to parking.
* Turn off the engine and after 5-10 minutes check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick.
* The oil level should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.

8. Resetting the automatic transmission oil change counter (optional):

* If your car is equipped with an automatic transmission oil life monitoring system, connect a scanner and reset the automatic transmission oil change counter.

9. Final check:

* Warm up the engine and check for oil leaks from the automatic transmission.
* Check the correct operation of the automatic transmission when changing gears.
