Occupational safety instructions for car mechanics and electricians

1. General labor protection requirements

* Individuals who have reached 18 years of age and have undergone a medical examination, labor safety training, and knowledge testing of labor safety requirements in the prescribed manner are allowed to independently carry out maintenance and repair work on electrical equipment of automobiles.
* An electrician’s car repair mechanic must comply with the requirements of these instructions, comply with internal labor regulations, work and rest schedules.
* A mechanic who repairs electric cars must be provided with overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment.
* At the workplace of a mechanic who repairs electric cars, the following must be posted: labor protection instructions, fire safety instructions, as well as electrical diagrams of the vehicles being serviced.
* Any accident witnessed by an electrical auto mechanic must be immediately reported to your immediate supervisor.
* If faults are detected in electrical equipment, an electrician car repair mechanic must immediately notify his immediate supervisor and not begin work until the fault is eliminated.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

* Wear overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment.
* Inspect the workplace to ensure that it complies with labor safety requirements.
* Check the serviceability of power tools, devices and equipment, make sure there is grounding.
* Check that the workplace lighting is working properly.
* Check the availability and serviceability of fire extinguishing equipment.
* Issue a permit for work.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

* Carry out maintenance and repair work on electrical equipment of vehicles only when the voltage is turned off.
* Turn off and turn on the voltage only with the permission of your immediate supervisor.
* Before starting work, make sure that there is no voltage on live parts of electrical equipment using a voltage indicator.
* Do not touch live parts of electrical equipment that are energized.
* When working with a power tool, you must comply with the instructions for its operation.
* Do not clutter the passages and workplace with foreign objects.
* Do not leave plugged-in power tools unattended.

4. Occupational safety requirements in emergency situations

* If an emergency occurs (fire, explosion, electrical injury, etc.), you must immediately stop work, turn off the voltage and report the incident to your immediate supervisor.
* If a fire occurs, you must use fire extinguishing agents, and if necessary, call the fire department by calling 01 (101).
* If you receive an electrical injury, you must provide first aid to the victim and call an ambulance by calling 03 (103).

5. Labor protection requirements upon completion of work

* Turn off the voltage on electrical equipment.
* Tidy up the workplace, remove tools, equipment and materials.
* Wash your hands with soap.
* Take off overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment and hand them over to the designated place.
