Occupational safety instructions for car repair mechanics (electricians)
Section 1. General safety requirements
* Persons at least 18 years of age who have undergone a medical examination, introductory and initial briefing, training and testing of knowledge on labor protection with the assignment of qualification group I in electrical safety are allowed to work.
* The locksmith is obliged:
* Comply with internal labor regulations, this Briefing, Fire Safety Rules, and production instructions on labor protection.
* Keep work area and equipment tidy and clean.
* Use the provided protective clothing, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment.
* Do not allow unauthorized persons into the workplace.
* It is prohibited to start work under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as well as when feeling unwell or tired.
* The mechanic must immediately report every accident that occurs at work or a deterioration in his health (poisoning, burns, etc.) to his immediate supervisor.
* A mechanic must pass:
* Regular occupational safety training – at least once every 6 months.
* Repeated instruction on labor protection – in case of violation of safety requirements, changes in the technological process, or labor protection rules.
* Unscheduled briefing on labor protection – when new or revised regulations are introduced, as well as at the request of authorized representatives of control bodies.
* Electrical safety training – within the time limits established by the Rules for the operation of electrical installations.
* Medical examination – annually.
Section 2. Safety requirements before starting work
* Wear overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment.
* Inspect the workplace, eliminate any detected faults or report them to the foreman.
* Inspect and put in order tools and equipment, carry out their maintenance.
* Check the serviceability of the grounding and make sure there are no exposed wires in the room and on the equipment.
* Receive a job assignment and ask the foreman about safe methods for performing it.
Section 3. Safety requirements during operation
* Repair electrical equipment of cars only after disconnecting them and removing the terminals from the battery.
* Disassemble electrical equipment only after the voltage has been completely removed.
* Use the maximum permissible dimensions of the tool, insulate it well.
* Troubleshoot electrical wiring wearing rubber gloves and using tools with insulated handles.
* Work with power tools only in good condition, with good insulation.
* Do not leave power tools turned on without supervision.
* Do not lay wires and cables in walkways, underfoot or in other places where they may be stepped on.
* Do not work at height without insurance.
* Do not disassemble live electrical appliances.
* Do not approach, touch or pull on broken wires. Report them to the foreman or person in charge.
* Do not work in clothes with torn pockets, fluttering sleeves, or hanging ends of clothes or scarves. Tuck your hair under your headdress.
* If it is necessary to carry loads whose weight exceeds the norm, perform this work together or call riggers.
Section 4. Safety requirements in emergency situations
* In case of electric shock, immediately turn off the voltage, release the victim from the current, provide first aid and call an ambulance.
* If a fire occurs, immediately stop all work, turn off electrical equipment, evacuate people and report the incident to the foreman or responsible person.
* If acid or electrolyte gets on your skin or eyes, wash it off immediately with water and, if necessary, consult a doctor.
* If a malfunction is detected in the operation of the equipment, immediately turn it off and report the problem to the foreman or responsible person.
Section 5. Safety requirements after completion of work
* Disconnect electrical equipment and remove the terminals from the battery.
* Remove tools and equipment.
* Put the workplace in order, remove garbage and waste.
* Remove personal protective equipment, wash hands and face.
* Inform the foreman about all malfunctions and malfunctions that arose during the working day.
