Occupational safety instructions for a car repair mechanic (electrician)

1. General requirements

* Persons who have undergone special training, have the appropriate electrical safety qualification group and are familiar with these instructions are allowed to work as a car repair mechanic (electrician).
* The mechanic is obliged to comply with internal labor regulations, job responsibilities, the requirements of this instruction, as well as electrical safety rules.

2. Requirements before starting work

* Before starting work, the mechanic must:
* Receive a task from the master.
* Change into overalls and put on the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Inspect the workplace and put it in order.
* Check the serviceability of the tools and equipment used.
* Check the presence of protective grounding on operating electrical equipment.

3. Requirements when performing work

* When repairing electrical equipment of a car, a mechanic is obliged to:
* Disconnect the battery.
* Check that there is no voltage on all live parts using a voltage indicator.
* Use insulating tape or cambric to insulate exposed wires and terminals.
* When working with power tools, use only working and grounded outlets.
* Follow the rules for working with hand-held power tools.
* When working at height, use a mounting belt and a safety rope.

4. Requirements in emergency situations

* In the event of an emergency (fire, short circuit, electric shock, etc.), the mechanic is obliged to:
* Stop supplying electricity to the vehicle.
* Report the incident to the foreman or senior manager.
* Provide first aid to the victim (if necessary).
* Immediately take measures to eliminate the causes of the accident.

5. Requirements upon completion of work

* Upon completion of work, the mechanic must:
* Disconnect any electrical equipment used.
* Tidy up your work area.
* Hand over tools and equipment to the master.
* Take off overalls and PPE.
* Inform the foreman about all malfunctions identified during work and about all events that may affect occupational safety.

6. Responsibility

* The car repair mechanic (electrician) is responsible for violating the requirements of these instructions in accordance with current legislation.
