Optimal normal operating temperature

* 70-85°C (158-185°F)

Permissible temperature range

* 65-90°C (149-194°F)

Critical temperatures

Temperature too low:

* Below 65°C (149°F)
* May cause poor shifting and increased risk of wear.

Temperature too high:

*Above 90°C (194°F)
* May cause damage to transmission fluid, clutches and other automatic transmission components.

Precautions

It is important to maintain the automatic transmission temperature within the acceptable range. High or low temperatures can cause serious problems and reduce the life of the automatic transmission.

* Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid regularly.
*Use a quality transmission fluid that meets manufacturer specifications.
* Avoid aggressive driving and towing heavy loads for long periods of time.
* Install an additional transmission fluid cooler for vehicles used under heavy load conditions or driving at high speeds.
