The oil level in the Nissan Teana J31 automatic transmission is checked on a warm gearbox as follows:

Materials:

* Funnel for adding automatic transmission oil
* Rags or rag

Procedure for checking the oil level:

1. Start the car engine and let it idle for several minutes to warm up the automatic transmission.
2. Shift the transmission selector to Park (P).
3. Find the automatic transmission oil level dipstick, which is usually located in the engine compartment.
4. Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
5. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission until it stops.
6. Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level.

Normal oil level:

* The oil level should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the dipstick.
* If the oil level is below the “COLD” mark, add oil.
* If the oil level is above the “HOT” mark, the excess must be pumped out.

Adding oil:

* To add oil, use a funnel and automatic transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Add oil in small portions, periodically checking the level on the dipstick.
* Continue adding oil until the level reaches the “HOT” mark on the dipstick.

Pumping out excess oil:

* To pump out excess oil, you will need a special syringe or oil pump.
* Insert the syringe or pump tube into the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Pump out the oil until the level reaches the “HOT” mark on the dipstick.

Note:

* Do not use a regular dipstick to check the automatic transmission oil level to check the engine oil level.
* Check the oil level on a level surface.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level regularly, especially after long trips or towing.
