Materials:
* Automatic transmission oil (consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for exact type and volume)
* Automatic transmission filter (if applicable)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Tool kit (including socket wrenches, screwdrivers and torque wrench)
* Funnel
Instructions:
1. Preparing the car:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Start the engine and leave it in park for 10-15 minutes to warm up the transmission fluid.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a container under the drain plug to drain the oil.
* Using a socket wrench, carefully unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil.
*Wait until the oil has completely drained.
3. Filter replacement (if applicable):
* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Locate the oil filter and remove it.
* Install the new filter and tighten it using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
4. Installing a new pan gasket:
* Clean the surface of the pan and gearbox housing from the remains of the old gasket.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.
5. Putting the pallet back:
* Reinstall the pan onto the transmission housing and tighten the bolts using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
6. Filling with new oil:
* Using a funnel, pour new oil into the gearbox.
* Fill in the amount of oil specified in the vehicle’s operating manual.
7. Checking the fluid level:
* Start the engine and shift the gear selector through all positions, delaying each position for a few seconds.
* Stop the engine and wait 1-2 minutes for the fluid to drain.
* Check the fluid level using the automatic transmission dipstick and add if necessary.
8. Resetting the oil change counter (if necessary):
* Some Nissan Note models have an automatic transmission oil change counter. To reset the counter, follow the steps in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
9. Test drive:
*Take a test drive to ensure the transmission is working properly.
