Type 1:
Models 2006-2012
* The gear shift lever has a backlight integrated into the front panel.
* The light comes from an incandescent lamp located behind the panel.
Type 2:
Models 2013-2021
* The gear shift lever has a separate backlight located underneath it.
* The lamp is a light emitting diode (LED).
Replacing the backlight:
Type 1 (2006-2012 models):
1. Remove the decorative panel around the gear shift lever.
2. Disconnect the power connector from the lamp.
3. Rotate the lamp counterclockwise to remove it.
4. Insert the new lamp and turn it clockwise to secure it.
5. Connect the power connector.
6. Reinstall the decorative panel.
Type 2 (2013-2021 models):
1. Remove the gear shift cover.
2. Locate and disconnect the power connector from the lamp.
3. Remove the lamp by pulling it straight down.
4. Insert the new lamp and press it until it clicks.
5. Connect the power connector.
6. Reinstall the shift lever boot.
Replacement lamps:
*Type 1 (2006-2012 models): T10 W5W incandescent bulb
*Type 2 (2013-2021 models): Light Emitting Diode (LED)
