Required materials:
* New automatic transmission filter
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* Drain plug and automatic transmission pan washer (if necessary)
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
* Oil resistant gloves
* Funnel
* 10 mm hex key
* Torque wrench
Instructions:
1. Safety first. Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, the parking brake is set, and the engine is turned off. Allow the vehicle to cool for at least 30 minutes.
2. Raise the car. Jack up the front of the car and place it on secure supports.
3. Drain the transmission fluid. Place the oil drain pan under the automatic transmission pan. Loosen the drain plug with a 10mm hex key and drain the fluid.
4. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the automatic transmission pan bolts with a 10 mm hex key. Carefully remove the pan, rocking it slightly from side to side.
5. Remove the old filter. Remove the old automatic transmission filter by unscrewing its mounting bolts.
6. Install a new filter. Install a new automatic transmission filter and tighten its bolts to the torque specified in the technical manual.
7. Clean the tray and surface. Clean the automatic transmission pan and the mating surface from old sealant and dirt.
8. Install a new gasket. Apply a thin bead of transmission sealant to the new transmission pan gasket.
9. Install the automatic transmission pan. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the technical manual.
10. Install the drain plug. Screw in the drain plug and replace the washer if necessary. Tighten the plug to the torque specified in the technical manual.
11. Fill with new transmission fluid. Using a funnel, fill the automatic transmission with as much transmission fluid as was drained.
12. Check the fluid level. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. Check the transmission fluid level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The fluid level should be between the “cold” and “hot” marks.
13. Lower the vehicle. Lower the vehicle from the supports.
Adviсe:
* Use only transmission fluid recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Change the automatic transmission filter every 60,000-100,000 km or in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* Tighten the bolts to the specified torque to avoid damaging the automatic transmission pan or filter.
