Tools and materials:

* Set of keys
* Torque wrench
*Transmission fluid leak
* Funnel
* Clean rags

Procedure:

1. Lifting the car

* Place the car on a level surface.
* Raise the car using a jack or lift.

2. Drain transmission fluid

* Locate the transmission drain plug.
* Place a container under the plug to drain the liquid.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the liquid.

3. Removing the transmission pan

* Unscrew the transmission pan mounting bolts.
* Carefully remove the tray.
* Clean the pan and gasket of old fluid.

4. Loosen the belt tensioner locknut

* Locate the brake band tensioner locknut.
* Loosen the lock nut, but do not remove it completely.

5. Band tightening

*Using a torque wrench, turn the tensioner bolt to tighten the belt.
* Refer to your service manual for tightening torque for your Nissan model.
* Typically the tightening torque range is 25-35 Nm.

6. Tightening the locknut

* Tighten the brake band tensioner locknut while holding the tensioner bolt from turning.

7. Installing the transmission pan

* Place a new gasket on the transmission pan.
* Install the pan and tighten the mounting bolts.

8. Refilling transmission fluid

* Add as much fluid to the transmission as was drained.
*Use a funnel to prevent spills.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick.

9. Lowering the car

* Lower the vehicle to the ground.

10. Checking the fluid level

* Start the engine and warm it up.
* Shift gears and let the car idle.
* Check the fluid level on the dipstick and add more if necessary.

Note: Do not over-tighten the tape, otherwise it may damage the transmission. Always follow the specified tightening torques.
