Replacing an automatic transmission on a Nissan Qashqai
Required tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission
* Transmission fluid
* Oil pan gasket
* Automatic box filter
* Jack
* Stands
* Set of keys
* Rags
* Container for draining liquid
Instructions:
1. Preparing the car:
* Stop the engine.
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Raise the front of the car using a jack and install stands for safety.
2. Draining transmission fluid:
* Locate the fluid drain bolt on the oil pan.
* Place a container under the drain hole.
* Use a wrench to unscrew the drain bolt and drain all the liquid.
3. Removing the old automatic transmission:
* Disconnect all electrical connectors and hoses from the transmission.
* Unscrew the bolts and nuts securing the automatic transmission to the engine and transmission.
* Carefully slide the automatic transmission back to disconnect it from the engine.
* Lower the automatic transmission to the floor.
4. Installing a new automatic transmission:
* Lift the new automatic transmission into place.
* Align the transmission with the engine and transmission.
* Tighten the bolts and nuts securing the transmission.
* Connect all electrical connectors and hoses.
5. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:
* Remove the oil pan.
* Replace the automatic transmission filter with a new one.
* Reinstall the oil pan with a new gasket.
6. Filling with transmission fluid:
* Fill the transmission with the recommended amount of transmission fluid.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick.
*If necessary, add fluid to the required level.
7. Functionality check:
* Start the engine and check all gears.
*Note any noise, vibration or slippage.
8. Reset adaptations:
* Disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes to reset the transmission adaptations.
* Connect the battery and let the car idle for a few minutes.
* Drive a few kilometers to allow the transmission to relearn how to adapt to your driving style.

* Use only original or high quality spare parts.
* After replacing the automatic transmission, drive the first few hundred kilometers in a gentle mode so that the gearbox can break in.
