Materials required to change the oil in a Nissan Almera Classic automatic transmission:

*Nissan automatic transmission oil (approx. 4 liters)
* New transmission pan gasket
* New transmission filter
* O-ring for drain plug
* Tools: wrench, sockets, funnel, rags

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a lift or in a position where you have easy access to the underside of the vehicle.
* Start the engine and fully warm up the transmission.
* Turn off the engine and let the oil drain for 10-15 minutes.

2. Draining old oil:

* Locate the transmission pan under the vehicle.
* Place an oil drain pan under the transmission drain hole.
* Carefully unscrew the drain plug using a wrench.
*Wait until the old oil is completely drained.

3. Replacing the pan gasket:

* Remove the transmission pan by unscrewing the mounting bolts using a wrench.
* Clean the surfaces of the pan and gearbox of the old gasket.
* Install a new pan gasket.

4. Filter replacement:

* Unscrew the filter mounting bolts using a wrench.
* Remove the old filter and clean the seat from any remaining oil.
* Install a new filter and tighten the mounting bolts.

5. Filling with fresh oil:

* Pour fresh oil into the oil fill hole using a funnel.
* Fill in approximately 3 liters of oil.

6. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Place the gear selector in the «Park» position and remove the oil level dipstick.
* Wipe the dipstick and reinsert it into the tube until it stops.
* Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. It should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks on the dipstick.

7. Adding oil if necessary:

* If the oil level is below the «Min» mark, add a small amount of oil and check the level again.
* Repeat this process until the oil level reaches the «Max» mark.

8. Final steps:

* Reinstall the drain plug with a new O-ring.
* Tighten the drain plug with a wrench.
* Install the transmission pan and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Clean all tools and work area.

Notes:

* Regularly changing the gearbox oil (every 30,000-60,000 km) will extend the life of the gearbox and ensure its reliable operation.
* Use only manufacturer-recommended Nissan automatic transmission oil.
*If you are unsure of your skills, it is best to have your oil change done by a qualified mechanic.
