Using a Nissan Almera automatic transmission

Gear Shifter:

* P (Parking): Holds the vehicle stationary and locks the wheels, used when parking.
* R (Reverse): Used to move the vehicle in reverse.
* N (Neutral): Disconnects the engine from the transmission but does not lock the wheels, used when towing or idling.
* D (Drive): Used to move the vehicle forward, automatically shifting gears.
* L (Low): Used to drive the vehicle at a reduced speed, such as when going up a hill.

Usage:

1. Starting the engine: Press the brake pedal and turn the ignition key to the “ON” position.
2. Gear selection: While holding the brake pedal, move the gear selector to the desired position.
3. Removing the parking brake: Release the brake pedal only after the vehicle starts moving.
4. Acceleration: Press the gas pedal to accelerate the car. The transmission will automatically shift to higher gears as speed increases.
5. Braking: Press the brake pedal to slow down or stop the vehicle. The transmission will automatically downshift as speed decreases.
6. Parking: Stop the vehicle, depress the brake pedal, move the gear shift to the “P” position and apply the parking brake.

Adviсe:

* Always use the brake pedal when changing gears.
* Do not shift into neutral while driving as this may cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking as this may damage the transmission.
* Maintain your transmission regularly by replacing transmission fluid and filters according to your maintenance schedule.
