Automatic transmission multifunction switch repair

Tools and materials:

* Flat head screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver (phillips)
* Soldering iron and solder
* Multimeter (optional)
* Set of wires for soldering
* New contact group (if necessary)

Steps:

1.Remove the switch

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
*Locate the switch on the dashboard.
* Locate and remove the mounting screws.
* Remove the switch and disconnect the electrical connectors.

2. Disassemble the switch

*Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the switch cover.
* Remove the mounting screws and separate the switch body into two parts.

3. Check the contact group

* Visually inspect the contact group for damage or wear.
* Use a multimeter to check the contacts for continuity and resistance.
* If a malfunction is detected, replace the contact group with a new one.

4. Desolder and solder the wires

* Find the wires connected to the contact group.
* Unsolder the wires, observing the correct polarity.
* Solder new wires or reconnect existing wires to the new terminal block.

5. Assemble the switch

* Install a new contact group (if necessary).
* Assemble the switch body and secure it with screws.
* Install the switch cover.

6. Reinstall the switch

* Connect the electrical connectors to the switch.
* Install the switch on the dashboard and secure it with the mounting screws.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

7. Check your work

* Start the engine and switch the automatic transmission modes to check if the switch functions properly.
