Automatic transmission selector Mitsubishi Outlander XL

The automatic transmission selector on the Mitsubishi Outlander XL is a lever that allows the driver to select a gear. It is located on the center console and has the following positions:

P (Park): Engages the parking latch, preventing the vehicle from moving.

R (Reverse): Places the transmission in reverse.

N (Neutral): Disconnects the transmission from the engine, allowing the vehicle to roll freely.

D (Drive): Automatically changes gears to move forward.

L (low gear): Used for off-road driving or towing.

2: Limits the maximum gear for forward driving in second gear.

1: Limits the maximum gear for forward driving in first gear.

Sport Mode: Provides sportier shifting by delaying upshifts and allowing faster downshifts.

Torque Converter Lockup (T/C LOCK): Improves fuel economy by locking the torque converter in higher gears.

Overdrive (OD): Allows the transmission to shift into a higher gear for improved efficiency.

Additional notes:

* When shifting the selector lever from position P, you must depress the brake pedal to prevent accidental movement.
* The selector can be switched between D and L while driving.
*Sport mode can be activated or deactivated using the button on the selector.
* The torque converter lockup is activated automatically.
* Overdrive can be turned on or off using a button on the selector or gear lever.
