Adaptation of Mitsubishi Outlander automatic transmission

Adaptation of an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) is the process of training the transmission to operate optimally in accordance with the operating conditions of the vehicle. Here are step-by-step instructions for adapting an automatic transmission in a Mitsubishi Outlander:

Materials:

* OBD-II scanner
* Diagnostic software (such as Techstream or Torque Pro)

Steps:

1. Start the engine. Make sure it is idling and the engine temperature is around 80°C (176°F).

2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port. Port location may vary depending on Outlander model.

3. Open diagnostic software. Connect to the OBD-II scanner and select the Outlander model.

4. Select the automatic transmission control module. This can be done using menu tabs or a tree of navigation options.

5. Find the automatic transmission adaptation function. It may have different names, such as ‘Transmission learning adaptation’ or ‘Automatic transmission learning reset’.

6. Start the onboarding process. Follow the instructions on the diagnostic software screen. The process usually takes a few minutes.

7. Drive the car for 15-20 minutes. This will allow the automatic transmission to learn new gear shift modes.

8. Restart the engine. This will complete the onboarding process.

Notes:

* The adaptation procedure may vary depending on the year and model of Outlander.
* It is recommended to perform automatic transmission adaptation after changing the automatic transmission oil or filter, as well as after long runs.
*If you experience gear shifting problems after adapting the automatic transmission, contact a certified Mitsubishi mechanic.

Warning:

* Do not disconnect the battery during the adaptation procedure.
* Do not turn off the engine until the adaptation is complete.
