Common automatic transmission problems in Mitsubishi cars

1. Gear slippage

* There is a feeling of slippage or delay when shifting gears.
*This may be due to a worn clutch, low transmission fluid, or electronic control problems.

2. Hard shifts

* Gears shift abruptly, causing noticeable jolts.
*This may be due to worn solenoids, a faulty transmission control module, or torque converter problems.

3. Gear stuck

* The transmission does not shift to a higher gear, even when accelerating.
*This may be caused by problems with the solenoids, transmission control module, or wiring.

4. Switch to emergency mode

* The transmission goes into limp mode due to a problem being detected.
*This is usually accompanied by an error message on the dashboard.
*The cause may be due to problems with the transmission fluid, electronics, or mechanical components.

5. Transmission fluid leak

* Leaking transmission fluid can cause low fluid levels and problems with transmission operation.
*Leaks can be caused by faulty gaskets, seals or lines.

6. Noise and vibration

*Unusual sounds or vibrations coming from the transmission may indicate worn bearings, gears, or other components.

7. Overheating

* The transmission may overheat due to low fluid levels, cooling problems, or faulty mechanical components.
*This may cause premature wear and damage.

8. Problems with electronics

*Electronic problems with sensors, solenoids, or the transmission control module can affect transmission performance.
* This may result in unpredictable gear shifting, limp mode, and other problems.
