Using a Mitsubishi automatic transmission:
1. Gear shift lever:
*P (Park): Locks the transmission output shaft to park in place.
* R (Reverse): Shifts the transmission into reverse.
* N (Neutral): The transmission is disconnected from the engine, the vehicle cannot move.
* D (Drive): Basic forward driving mode.
* D3: Limits gear changes to improve traction on uneven surfaces or when towing.
*2: Locks higher gears for better control when driving on slippery surfaces or on steep descents.
* L (Low): Provides maximum traction for driving at very low speeds or when climbing steep grades.
2. Gear shift:
* Press the brake pedal and move the lever to the desired position.
* To change from Park (P) to any other mode, you need to press the brake pedal and simultaneously press the button on the lever.
3. Starting the engine:
* Press the brake pedal and move the lever to the P or N position.
* Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
4. Control while driving:
* Press the gas pedal to speed up.
*Press the brake pedal to slow down or stop.
* The transmission will automatically shift between gears as needed.
5. Parking:
* Stop the car completely and press the brake pedal.
* Move the lever to position P.
* Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition.
Additional recommendations:
* Shift to a lower gear (2 or L) when going down steep hills or when driving at very low speeds.
* Do not switch to P mode while driving as this may damage the transmission.
* Do not leave the vehicle in N position on a slope, as it may roll away.
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly to ensure proper operation of the automatic transmission.
