How to change gears in a Mitsubishi automatic transmission:

1. Selecting a gear lever

* The gear shift lever is usually located on the center console of the car.
* Most Mitsubishi models with automatic transmission use the following symbols on the lever:
* P (park): locks the transmission, preventing the car from moving.
* R (reverse): the car moves backwards.
* N (Neutral): The transmission is not engaged, the vehicle can roll freely.
* D (Drive): The vehicle moves forward, automatically changing gears based on speed and load.
* S (Sport) (on some models): Provides sportier shifting with faster acceleration and delayed upshifts.
*L (Low) (on some models): Used for climbing steep grades or towing.

2. Gear shift

* To change gear, press the release button on the gear lever (usually located on the top or side).
* Move the lever to the desired position.
* Release the unlock button.

3. Vehicle movement

* To start driving, move the lever to position D and press the gas pedal.
* The car will automatically change gears depending on the speed and load.
* To downshift (for example, for engine braking or towing), move the lever to the L position.
* To engage reverse, move the lever to position R and release the brake.

4. Switch to parking

* To park the vehicle, move the lever to position P and pull the parking brake.
* This will ensure the safety of the car from accidental movement.

Additionally:

* Some Mitsubishi models with automatic transmission are equipped with steering wheel gear shift paddles (paddle shifters).
*These shifters allow you to manually change gears without using the gear lever.
* In manual shift mode, the vehicle will not automatically shift to other gears.
* To switch to fully automatic gear shift mode, move the lever to position D or S.
