Mitsubishi INVECS-II (Intelligent Electronic Shift Control System) transmission
Design and principle of operation:
* Hydromechanical planetary gearbox with electronic control
*Contains three planetary gears:
* First row: acceleration and reverse gear
* Second row: low gear and neutral
* Third row: top gear (3rd and 4th)
* Equipped with torque converter
* The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) monitors the operation of the transmission using sensors for speed, throttle, engine speed, temperature, etc.
Operating modes:
*Normal Mode: Optimizes gear shifting for fuel economy and smooth driving
*Sport Mode: Shifts gears at higher engine speeds for sharper response
*Manual Shift Mode: Allows the driver to manually change gears using the lever or steering wheel paddles
