Required tools:

* Phillips screwdriver
* Funnel
* Pliers

Materials:

* New automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission oil pan gasket
* Transmission fluid (ATF)

Procedure:

1. Preparation

* Park the car on a level surface.
* Set the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.

2. Removing the automatic transmission oil pan

* Locate the automatic transmission oil pan, located at the bottom of the transmission.
* Clean the area around the pan from dirt.
* Carefully remove the drip tray cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
* Drain the transmission fluid into a clean container.

3. Replacing the automatic transmission filter

* Locate the automatic transmission filter located inside the oil pan.
* Remove the screws securing the filter using a Phillips screwdriver.
* Remove the old filter.
* Install the new filter, making sure it is installed correctly.
* Tighten the screws.

4. Replacing the oil pan gasket

* Remove the old gasket from the oil pan.
* Apply new sealant to the surface of the pan.
* Install a new gasket.

5. Installing the automatic transmission oil pan

* Apply new sealant to the surface of the oil pan.
* Reinstall the oil pan.
* Tighten the bolts securing the pan evenly.

6. Filling with transmission fluid

* Measure the drained transmission fluid.
*Add the same amount of new transmission fluid through the dipstick.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

7. Starting the engine

* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Shift gears to move fluid through the transmission.
* Check the fluid level again and add if necessary.

8. Resetting the automatic transmission fluid replacement counter (optional)

* On some models, it is necessary to reset the automatic transmission fluid change counter. Refer to your instruction manual for specific instructions.

Note:

*Use only manufacturer recommended transmission fluid.
*Tighten bolts to proper torque.
*If you are unsure of any steps, consult a qualified mechanic for assistance.
