Location and replacement of the automatic transmission selector microswitch ?koda Octavia A7:
Required tools:
*Torx T20 screwdriver
* Plastic trim removal tool (optional)
* New microswitch
Step by step instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will cut off the power to the vehicle.
2. Remove the center console. To do this, remove the shift lever cover (it is secured with latches), then use a T20 Torx screwdriver to remove the screws holding the side panels of the console. Gently pull the panels towards you to remove them.
3. Find the automatic transmission selector microswitch. It is located under the plastic cover at the bottom of the gear selector.
4. Disconnect the microswitch connector. Press the connector latch and pull it to disconnect.
5. Remove the screws holding the microswitch. These are usually Phillips head screws.
6. Remove the old microswitch. Gently pull it up and out of the case.
7. Install a new microswitch. Insert it into the housing and secure it with screws.
8. Connect the microswitch connector. Make sure it is securely fastened.
9. Reinstall the center console. Align the side panels and snap them into place. Install the shift lever cover.
10. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Note:
* It is recommended to replace the microswitch if you have problems shifting gears or the gear position indication is incorrect.
* When replacing the microswitch, make sure it is compatible with your vehicle.
*If you are unsure, consult a qualified mechanic.
