Materials:

* Rag or gloves
* Small flathead screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Wear gloves or a rag: The W210 gear shift knob may be dirty. Wear gloves or wrap a rag around your hand to protect it.

2. Locate the release button: Locate the small release button located at the bottom of the shift knob. It can be disguised with leather or plastic.

3. Press the unlock button: Press the unlock button and keep it pressed.

4. Pull the handle up: With the release button pressed, pull the shift handle up and remove it.

5. Remove Connector: Some models may have an electrical connector connected to the shift knob. Carefully release it by pressing the latch.

Adviсe:

*If the unlock button does not press or is stuck, try using a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry it open.
*If the handle does not come off when lifted, try pulling it slightly from side to side until it comes out.
* When reinstalling the handle, make sure it is positioned correctly and the connector (if any) is connected.
