Gear shifting in a Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission
1. Make sure the engine is running and the transmission selector is in the “P” (Park) position.
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Move the gear selector to the desired position:
– D (Drive): Normal forward driving.
– R (Reverse): Reverse movement.
– N (Neutral): The gearbox is disengaged, the engine can idle.
– P (Park): The gearbox is locked and the vehicle cannot move.
4. Release the brake pedal. The car will start moving.
Additional features:
* S (Sport) Mode: Provides a sportier ride with higher engine speeds and more aggressive shifting.
* M Mode (Manual): Allows you to manually change gears using the steering wheel paddle shifters.
* Mode C (Comfort): Provides smoother gear changes and lower engine speeds.
* E (Economy) mode: Enables an economical driving mode that optimizes fuel consumption.
Adviсe:
* Shift gears only with the brake pedal depressed.
*Do not shift into Park (P) while driving as this may damage the transmission.
*Service the transmission regularly as recommended in the owner’s manual.
