The flexible coupling, also known as a torque converter, is an integral component of a Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission. This device, located between the engine and transmission, serves several important purposes:

Flexible coupling functions:

* Torque Transmission: The elastic coupling transmits torque from the engine to the gearbox, allowing the vehicle to move away and accelerate.
* Smooth Gear Shifting: The flexible clutch acts as a shock absorber, smoothing out harsh gear changes and keeping the vehicle moving smoothly.
