Mercedes automatic transmission cooling hoses

Target:
Pumping coolant from the engine cooling system to the automatic transmission cooler and back. Coolant helps dissipate the heat generated by the automatic transmission during operation.

Hose types:

* Rubber Hoses: Traditional hoses made of rubber. They are flexible and relatively inexpensive.
*Metal hoses: More durable than rubber and can withstand higher temperatures. However, they are more expensive and more difficult to install.
* Reinforced Rubber Hoses: A combination of rubber and reinforcing material that provides a balance between flexibility and strength.

Purpose:

* Coolant Hose: Connects the engine cooling system to the automatic transmission cooler inlet.
* Coolant return hose: Connects the transmission cooler outlet to the engine coolant reservoir.

Location:

Automatic transmission coolant hoses are usually located in the engine compartment. They are connected to the automatic transmission cooler, which can be located in different places depending on the car model.

Maintenance:

* Inspect hoses regularly for cracks, leaks and loose fittings.
* Replace hoses every 100,000 – 150,000 km or as needed.
* Flush the cooling system every 50,000 – 75,000 km.

Consequences of the malfunction:

Faulty automatic transmission cooling hoses can lead to the following problems:

* Automatic transmission overheating
* Coolant leaks
*Mixing coolant and transmission fluid
*Damage to automatic transmission

It is important to keep your automatic transmission coolant hoses in good condition to ensure proper transmission operation and prevent costly repairs.
