Shifting gears in an automatic transmission Mercedes Actros

1. Switching to “D” (Drive) mode:
– Start the engine.
– Press the brake pedal.
– Move the gear lever to position “D”.

2. Shift to Park (P):
– Stop the car completely.
– While holding the brake pedal, move the gearshift lever to the “P” position.

3. Shift to Neutral (N):
– Press the brake pedal.
– Move the gear lever to the “N” position.

4. Manual switching (mode “M”):
– Move the gear selector to position “M”.
– Select the desired gear using the “+” and “-” buttons on the gear selector or the steering wheel paddles.

Adviсe:

*Always set the parking brake before shifting into park.
* Shift gears smoothly to avoid jerking.
* Do not shift to neutral while the vehicle is moving.
* Use manual shift mode only when necessary, such as when towing or on slippery roads.
