Checking the Mazda Premacy automatic transmission
1. External inspection:
* Check the automatic transmission pan for fluid leaks.
* Inspect the drive shafts for play.
* Check solenoids and sensors for damage or leaks.
2. Checking the fluid level:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Warm up the engine to operating temperature.
* Check the fluid level using the automatic transmission dipstick.
* Make sure the fluid is between the “cold” and “hot” marks.
3. Test drive:
* Place the gear selector in position “D” and release the parking brake.
* Press the accelerator pedal and accelerate smoothly.
* Gear changes should occur smoothly, without slipping or bumping.
* Check gear shifting in all ranges (D, 2, 1).
4. Electronics check:
* Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBD-II connector.
* Scan the automatic transmission system for errors or fault codes.
* Check operating parameters such as fluid temperature, oil pressure and input and output shaft rotation speed.
5. Inspection of the automatic transmission pan:
* Remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Check for metal particles, debris or carbon deposits in the fluid and on the pan magnets.
* Check the condition of the automatic transmission filter.
6.Service:
* Change the automatic transmission fluid and filter regularly in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
* Check fluid levels and repair leaks as necessary.
*Use only recommended transmission fluid.
Note: To check the condition of the internal components of the automatic transmission, it may be necessary to dismantle and completely disassemble the transmission. This is recommended for experienced professionals only.
