* Torque wrench (recommended)
Repair procedure:
1. Preparation:
* Raise and secure the vehicle on stands.
* Place a container to drain the fluid under the transmission pan.
* Warm up the engine at idle speed for about 5 minutes, then turn it off.
2. Draining ATF fluid:
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain all the liquid into a drain container.
* Tighten the drain plug with a new O-ring.
3. Removing the transmission pan:
* Remove the bolts securing the pan to the gearbox.
* Carefully remove the pan and drain the remaining liquid.
* Clean the pan and edges of the transmission of old sealant.
4. Replacing the ATF filter:
* Remove the old ATF filter.
* Clean the filter installation area and attach a new filter.
5. Cleaning solenoids:
* Remove the solenoids from the transmission cover.
* Clean solenoids and valve seats with parts cleaner.
6. Replacing gaskets and seals:
* Replace all old gaskets and O-rings with new ones.
* Apply sealant to the sealing surface of the pan.
7. Installation of the pallet:
* Place the pan on the transmission and tighten the bolts using a torque wrench.
*Wait for the sealant to cure (follow manufacturer’s directions).
8. Filling with ATF fluid:
* Insert the liquid level measuring tube into the filling hole.
* Pour new ATF oil into the gearbox through the filler hole.
* Run the engine at idle speed and check the fluid level until it reaches the «hot» mark on the dipstick.
*Add fluid if necessary.
9. Resetting the gearbox adaptation counter:
* This will require a special scanner or diagnostic software.
*Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for resetting the adaptation counter.
10. Test drive:
* Start the engine and shift the gear selector to all positions.
* Check for abnormal sounds, slipping or other problems with the transmission.
*Repeat the test with different loads (for example, on an incline or with a load).
Tips and tricks:
*Use only the type of ATF fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
*Follow the maintenance procedures specified in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
* Check the ATF fluid level periodically and add fluid if necessary.
* Regular maintenance will help extend the life of the transmission.
