Step 1: Preparation

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Gather the necessary tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers and a flathead screwdriver.

Step 2: Cable Access

* Look under the hood and find the automatic transmission shift cable. It usually runs from the gearshift lever to the transmission.
* Follow the cable and find the connection point to the gearbox.

Step 3: Disconnect from Transmission

*Using a wrench, remove the nut or bolt that connects the cable to the transmission.
* Disconnect the cable from the gearbox.

Step 4: Disconnecting from the Shift Lever

* Return to the interior and locate the connection point to the gear shift lever.
* Loosen the clamp that holds the cable in place.
* Pull the cable out of the clamp.

Step 5: Replace the cable

* Compare the new cable with the old one. They must be the same length and type.
* Connect the new cable to the shift lever and tighten the clamp.
* Connect the other end of the cable to the transmission and tighten the nut or bolt.

Step 6: Setup

* Make sure the cable is not twisted or pinched.
*Adjust cable tension to manufacturer specifications. This is usually done by adjusting the clamp on the gear shift lever.

Step 7: Check

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and shift the transmission to all positions.
* Check for smooth gear shifting and make sure the vehicle moves correctly in each gear.

Adviсe:

* Before disconnecting the automatic transmission shift cable, make a note of its position. This will make it easier to install the new cable in the correct position.
* Use lubricant at the cable connection point to the transmission to reduce friction.
* Check the cable for wear or damage before installation.
*If you have any difficulties, please contact a qualified mechanic.
