Recommended automatic transmission oil change interval for Lexus IS 250:

* Normal operating conditions: 60,000 miles (96,560 km) or 48 months
* Heavy duty: 30,000 miles (48,280 km) or 24 months

Severe operating conditions include:

* Frequent towing
* Driving in extreme heat or cold conditions
* Driving in off-road conditions
* Aggressive driving style

Required materials:

* New gear oil (approx. 8 liters)
* New transmission oil filter
* New transmission pan gasket
* Funnel
* Set of wrenches and screwdrivers

Procedure for changing automatic transmission oil:

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or ramps.
2. Locate the transmission pan and clean it of dirt and debris.
3. Relieve pressure in the transmission system by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.
4. Place a tray under the transmission to collect the drained oil.
5. Carefully unscrew the transmission pan bolts and remove it.
6. Drain all old oil from the transmission pan.
7. Remove and replace the transmission oil filter.
8. Install a new gasket on the transmission pan.
9. Attach the transmission pan to the transmission with new bolts.
10. Pour new transmission oil into the transmission through the filler hole.
11. Check the oil level using the transmission dipstick and add if necessary.
12. Reset the transmission oil change counter by connecting the negative terminal of the battery.

Note:

* It is recommended to use genuine Lexus recommended transmission oil.
* It is also recommended to flush the transmission system if the oil has not been changed for a long time or if the vehicle has been driven under severe conditions.
