Step 1: Learn the controls

* Gear selector: Typically marked “P”, “R”, “N”, “D” and “L”.
*Gas: Pedal on the right which controls the fuel supply.
*Brake: The pedal on the left that slows or stops the car.

Step 2: Starting the Engine

1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the gear selector to the “P” (Park) position.
3. Insert the key and turn it to start the engine.

Step 3: Movement

1. Move the gear selector to the “D” (Drive) position.
2. Release the brake pedal.
3. Press the gas pedal to start the car moving.

Step 4: Stop

1. Press the brake pedal to slow down the vehicle.
2. When the vehicle has come to a complete stop, move the gear selector to the “P” (Park) position.
3. Set the car’s handbrake, if necessary (usually in the form of a lever near the driver’s seat).

Step 5: Shifting Gears

*Cars with automatic transmission usually do not require manual gear shifting. The gear selector automatically changes between gears as needed.
*Some models may have a manual shift mode that allows the driver to select gears independently.

Useful tips

* Start by driving in a quiet and safe place.
* Do not try to press the gas and brake pedals at the same time.
* Do not move the gear selector to “P” while the vehicle is moving.
* Do not leave the car in position “D” for a long time.
*Service your vehicle regularly to ensure the automatic transmission is in good working order.
