Step 1: Get to know the basic modes

Most automatic transmissions have the following modes:

* P (Parking): Locks the wheels when the vehicle is stationary.
* R (Rear): Moves the vehicle backwards.
* N (Neutral): Disconnects the transmission from the engine.
* D (Drive): Normal forward driving mode.
*S (Sport): Provides more spirited acceleration and later shifts.
* L (Maneuvering): Used for towing or driving at low speeds.

Step 2: Starting the car

1. Make sure the transmission is in Park (P).
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Insert the key and turn it to the “start” position.
4. When the engine starts, release the key.

Step 3: Switch Modes

To switch between modes, press the gear lever and move it to the desired position. Make sure the brake pedal is still depressed.

Step 4. Movement

1. Place the transmission in Drive mode (D).
2. Take your foot off the brake pedal.
3. The car will begin to move forward.

Step 5: Stop

1. Press the brake pedal to slow or stop the vehicle.
2. When the vehicle is stopped, place the transmission in Park (P).

Adviсe

* Do not change gears while driving.
* Do not place the gearshift lever into Park (P) while the vehicle is moving.
* Keep your car in good condition by changing the gearbox oil in a timely manner.
*If you have problems with your automatic transmission, take it to your mechanic.
