Steps to replace Lancer automatic transmission:

Required tools and materials:

* New gearbox
* New transmission filter
* New oil pan gasket
* Oil pan gasket
* New gasket sealant
* Torque wrench
* Socket wrenches
* Screwdriver
* Metal cleaning brush
* Rags

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Jack up the car and place it on stands.
* Drain the transmission fluid.
* Disconnect the battery cables.

2. Removing the old gearbox:

* Disconnect the gear shift lever
* Disconnect the transmission hydraulic lines and electrical connectors.
* Unscrew the propeller shaft mounting bolts.
* Disconnect the driveshaft from the gearbox.
* Disconnect the starter.
* Place a jack under the transmission to support it.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine and body.
* Carefully lower the old gearbox.

3. Installing a new gearbox:

* Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the engine and body.
* Apply new sealant to the oil pan gasket.
* Install the oil pan gasket.
* Lift the new gearbox and install it in place.
* Tighten the transmission mounting bolts to the specified torque.
* Connect the driveshaft to the gearbox.
* Screw on the propeller shaft bolts.
* Connect the starter.

4. Gearbox connection:

* Connect the hydraulic lines to the transmission.
* Connect the electrical connectors.
* Connect the gear shift lever.

5. Completion:

* Fill with new transmission fluid.
* Connect the battery wires.
* Lower the vehicle from the stands.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add if necessary.
