Tools and materials:
* New cooling radiator
* New antifreeze
* Key for 10
* Key for 12
* Key for 14
* Pliers
* Container for draining antifreeze
* Funnel
* Rag
Replacement procedure:
1. Cool the engine. Allow the engine to cool to avoid burns when handling hot fluids.
2. Drain the antifreeze. Open the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator and drain the antifreeze into a container.
3. Remove the upper engine protective cover. It is secured with several bolts using a 10 mm wrench.
4. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Use pliers to tighten the clamps on the hoses and slide them away from the pipes.
5. Unscrew the radiator mounting bolts. Usually these are two bolts at the top and two at the bottom with a 12 or 14 wrench.
6. Remove the old radiator. Carefully pull the radiator up and remove it.
7. Install a new radiator. Insert the new radiator into place, making sure it is positioned correctly.
8. Tighten the radiator mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts by hand and then with a wrench.
9. Connect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Reinstall the clamps.
10. Fill with antifreeze. Pour new antifreeze into the radiator using a funnel. Fill to the level indicated on the radiator or in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
11. Install the engine protective cover. Reinstall the protective cover and tighten the bolts.
12. Check the antifreeze level. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check the antifreeze level and add if necessary.
Adviсe:
* Use high-quality antifreeze recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Do not overtighten the clamps as this may damage the hoses.
* Check the condition of the thermostat and pump when replacing the radiator, as they may also affect the operation of the cooling system.
* Make sure all connections are tight to avoid leaks.
