Kia Sportage automatic transmission operating modes:

| Mode | Description |

| P (Parking) | Locks the transmission for parking. |

| N (Neutral) | The transmission is disconnected from the engine. |
| D (Drive) | Normal forward mode. |
| S (Sport) | Transfers engine power to the wheels at higher speeds for a sportier ride. |
| M (Manual) | Allows the driver to manually change gears. |

Using a Kia Sportage automatic transmission:

Starting the engine:

1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector from position P to D.
3. Start the engine.

Moving forward:

1. While holding down the brake pedal, move the automatic transmission selector from position P to D.
2. Release the brake pedal and press the gas pedal to move forward.

Reverse movement:

1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector from position D to R.
3. Release the brake pedal and press the gas pedal to move backwards.

Neutral:

1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector from position D to N.
3. Release the brake pedal to place the vehicle in neutral.

Parking:

1. Stop the vehicle completely.
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Move the automatic transmission selector from position D to P.
4. Turn off the engine.

Manual mode (M):

1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Move the automatic transmission selector from position D to M.
3. Change gears using the automatic transmission selector handle or steering wheel paddles.

Tips for use:

*Always press the brake pedal before changing gears.
* Avoid sudden gear changes.
* Do not keep your foot on the brake pedal while driving.
* Regularly service the automatic transmission in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* When switching to Parking mode (P), make sure the vehicle is completely stopped.
