Required materials:

* New automatic transmission oil (approximately 8 liters)
* New automatic transmission filter
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* 8 mm hexagon
* Pliers
* Special gun for filling automatic transmission oil
* Funnel

Instructions for changing automatic transmission oil on a Kia Sorento diesel:

1. Preparing the car:

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Switch the automatic transmission to “Parking” mode.
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Stop the engine.

2. Draining old oil:

* Determine the location of the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the drain plug with an 8 mm hexagon.
* Drain the old oil into a prepared container.

3. Replacing the filter and gasket:

* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the tray.
* Remove the old automatic transmission filter.
* Install the new filter into the pan.
* Clean the surface of the pan and the adjacent surface of the automatic transmission.
* Install a new gasket under the pan.

4. Installing the pan and filling in new oil:

* Reinstall the automatic transmission pan.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts.
* Pour new oil into the automatic transmission using a special gun or funnel.
* Fill in approximately 8 liters of oil.

5. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and let it idle for 5-10 minutes.
* Switch the automatic transmission through all modes and return to the “Parking” mode.
* Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. The oil level should be between the “Hot” and “Cold” marks.

6. Cleaning:

* Clean all parts that have been removed and plugs.
* Reinstall the plugs.
* Check for leaks.

Important:

* Use only oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Regularly check the oil level in the automatic transmission and add it if necessary.
* Do not start the engine with the drain plug removed.
* If you are not confident in your skills, it is recommended to contact a professional car service to change the automatic transmission oil.
