Changing the oil in an automatic transmission Kia Ceed 2013
Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission oil (about 4 liters)
* New automatic transmission pan gasket
* Washers for automatic transmission pan bolts
* Funnel
* Ratchet key
* Head set
* Rags
Replacement procedure:
1. Prepare the car. Place the car on a level surface. Apply the parking brake.
2. Warm up the gearbox. Drive the car for about 15 minutes to warm up the transmission oil.
3. Raise the car. Use a lift or jack to raise the front of the vehicle.
4. Find the automatic transmission drain plug. It is usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
5. Place a container under the drain hole. This will prevent oil from spilling when drained.
6. Loosen the drain plug. Use a ratchet wrench and socket to loosen the drain plug. Do not unscrew it completely.
7. Drain the oil from the automatic transmission. Carefully unscrew the cap and allow the oil to drain into the container. Wait until the oil stream becomes thin or stops flowing.
8. Replace the automatic transmission pan gasket. Remove the old gasket and install a new one in its place.
9. Clean the automatic transmission pan. Remove any remaining old oil or dirt from the transmission pan.
10. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan. Screw the automatic transmission pan bolts and tighten them with new force. Install a new washer on each bolt.
11. Fill the automatic transmission with new oil. Use a funnel to pour new oil into the transmission dipstick hole. Add about 3 liters of oil.
12. Check the oil level. Start the engine and change all gears. Check the oil level using the automatic transmission dipstick. Add oil as necessary until the level reaches the «hot» mark on the dipstick.
13. Lower the vehicle. Lower the car and check the automatic transmission pan for leaks.
Frequency of oil change in automatic transmission Kia Ceed 2013:
* Under normal operating conditions: every 60,000 km
* Under severe operating conditions (frequent driving in traffic jams, towing a trailer, etc.): every 30,000 km
Notes:
* Use only automatic transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* Torque the transmission pan bolts to the correct torque according to manufacturer specifications.
* After changing the oil, drive the car for about 50 km and check the oil level again.
